Time For You

I am a BACP Registered and Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with 12 years' experience.  I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I use a variety of counselling skills which can be matched to suit your needs and goals.  I have a warm, friendly and compassionate approach which will help you to feel completely at ease as we work together with support to address whatever brings you to counselling.  Whatever you bring to counselling really matters to me.

I have been providing remote counselling for individuals and couples alike and clinical supervision during the past 18 months (by telephone or video, eg Zoom or Skype). My clients and supervisees have found this to be just as effective as face to face sessions, so much so that I now work entirely via telephone and video sessions, at times to suit you. The benefits for the client are that there is no additional travel time, no transport, parking or fuel costs.  You will feel completely relaxed in your own environment.

I am based in Rossendale, but can now offer counselling all over the UK.

I provide Counselling and Psychotherapy for Individuals 18+ and I am also a qualified Couples'/Relationship Counsellor, in addition to being a Counselling Supervisor/Clinical Supervisor. I am also a qualified EMDR Practitioner (including training in the provision of remote EMDR video sessions). EMDR is particularly helpful for trauma including PTSD. I am further qualified in Critical Incident Management.

Life can be challenging for all of us at times, yet joyful at others. I aim to offer you counselling support at a time when you need it, whether this is for individuals or couples. We don't have to be in crisis to undertake Counselling - it is so much better to get support earlier and avoid unnecessary and prolonged emotional difficulties.

Together we will share your journey, exploring your concerns together - be they anxiety, depression, work, health or friendship/relationship issues, trauma, bereavement, grief, loss, isolation, self-esteem, childhood issues or wishing to explore difficult life decisions.

We will work together, supportively and collaboratively, without judgement, to find ways for you to venture forwards with deeper understanding, increased confidence and able to see clear future pathways, choices, aspirations and goals. I will help you to learn new ways in which to reduce your anxiety and depression, or to take greater control of your situation, increase your confidence, assertiveness and self-esteem, allowing you to feel more empowered, with greater vision, hope, clarity, acceptance, action and motivation.

We do not always need to explore the past - many clients choose to focus on the present and future. For others, though, understanding and processing what has happened in the past, exploring difficult feelings and repeated patterns of behaviours, can help us to understand the present - the 'here and now' with greater self-compassion - and this can inform beneficial changes for your future.

Remember, counselling takes time, determination and commitment.

It is a journey that first needs you to take a step.
